Giuditta Codero Moss Prize
NACL announces Giuditta Cordero Moss Prizes
The Norwegian Association for Comparative Law (NACL) is pleased to announce two prizes for outstanding contributions in Norwegian or Nordic comparative law. One prize will honor established scholars, while the other is dedicated to junior comparatists.
In addition, the prizes also recognize alternative and innovative formats such as blogs, podcasts, or other media productions that apply comparative perspectives to Norwegian or Nordic law and legal culture.
The deadline for submissions is 1 May 2026, and the winners will be celebrated at the association’s annual assembly in Kristiansand, mid‑June 2026.
Canada Prize by IACL
The Canada Prize was established on the occasion of the IXth Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law, held in Ottawa in 1974. The prize was established thanks to the significant contributions of the Department of Justice of Canada, the Québec Society of Comparative Law, the Faculty of Law of McGill University and the McGill’s Wainwright Trust Fund.
It is awarded to an original work of legal scholarship, written in English or French, that offers a critical and comparative analysis of civil law and common law systems. The Prize promotes studies that foster mutual understanding between legal traditions and advance the discipline of comparative law.
The Canada Prize is awarded every four years on the occasion of the Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law.
The Prize carries an award of CAD $10,000 provided by the Government of Canada.
Are eligible original manuscripts, published or unpublished, completed between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2025.
Applications are reviewed by an international jury of members appointed by the Bureau of the International Academy of Comparative Law.
The jury assesses the scientific quality, originality, and contribution of the work to the discipline of comparative law.
Application deadline :
6 March 2026 (but an earlier application is preferable)
Determination of the laureate by the jury:
At least 2 months before the congress.
